"The day of the LORD" is not the day Christ comes, but the biblical end-time period. When Christ was asked about the end of the world, He blended the destruction of Jerusalem with other signs. Joel 2:10 shows it initiated with an earthquake, like Paul says, "sudden destruction in 1Thess 5:2,3. Christ's 7 parables (Matt 24:32 to 25:31 show various aspects of the same event and have the same timing "as the days of Noah…THEN shall two be in the field, one taken, the other left…" THEN means same timing, but not a rapture.
